With 330 runners on the girls' side and 263 on the boys' side, it was a crowded race out in East Lansing, but the Buccaneers came away with a strong performance.
The Grand Haven girls cross country team finished eighth out of 39 teams with 341 points.
Senior standout Gabby Hentemann finished ninth overall with a time of 18 minutes, 31.1 seconds, while teammate Abby Buitenhuis added a 39th-place finish with a time of 19:40.5.
Giovana Marecek came in 62nd place with a time of 20:02.9, Kelsie McManus finished in 124th place with a time of 21:16.4, and Eden Traub rounded out the team scoring with a 127nd-place finish at 21:20.2.
The Grand Haven boys cross country team finished ninth out of 40 teams with 361 points.
Andrew Ireland finished 40th overall with a time of 16:38.4 to lead the Bucs, while Dominic Weatherwax added a 49th-place finish at 16:49.6.
Aidan Martin finished 56th with a time of 16:57.5, Kyle Eveland added a 108th-place finish at 17:28.8, and Cole Rowden rounded out the team scoring with a 123rd-place finish at 17:36.2
