Each Friday on the pages of the Tribune and online at grandhaventribune.com, we will highlight a Classroom of the Week.

This feature sheds light on the work students and teachers are doing, and it lets the community know what makes each class special.

Here’s more about this week’s featured classroom:

Teacher's name: Mr. Kevin Teays

Number of students: 25

Grade: Third

School: Holmes Elementary

What makes your classroom special? My classroom is special because we share a mutual love of learning new things, learn from each other and make real world connections.

What is your classroom's motto? Be responsible, be respectful and be safe/Do you best! (We have two)

What is your classroom the most proud of? We are really getting the hang of our multiplication facts.

Fun fact about your classroom: My mother is a paraprofessional (instructional assistant) in our building and she often helps in my classroom. The kiddos think it is funny to see my mother and I teach in the same room.

What would you like the community to know? We have built a wonderful classroom community full of safe, helpful, respectful and smart third-graders.

Classroom of the Week is sponsored by Little Smiles and Smile Orthodontics.
