After weeks of rehearsal, Grand Haven Christian School students are ready to “go fly a kite.”

GHCS students will perform “Mary Poppins Jr.” at 6:30 p.m. today and Thursday in the school’s gymnasium.

Tickets are available in the school’s office or at the door. Tickets are $5 a person or $20 for a family.

Eighth-grader Ashley Binnendyk plays the famous nanny who takes care of two troublemaker children.

Binnendyk, 13, said she’s enjoyed watching the production unfold from rehearsing in the school’s music room to moving onto the stage with lines and choreography.

As audiences watch the production, Binnendyk said she hopes they take away a message that’s also a line in the show: “Anything can happen if you let it.”

The school is located on Grand Haven’s east side at 1102 Grant Ave.
