Two teens lodged for threats against Lakeshore Middle School

Two 13-year-olds are being held in local juvenile detention facilities stemming from threats of school violence against Lakeshore Middle School.

The two male teens were taken into custody for the charge of a false report or threat of terrorism, which is a 20-year felony and/or a $20,000 fine, according to a media release from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

One teen is being held in the Ottawa County Juvenile Detention Center. The other teen is being held in the Muskegon County Juvenile Detention Center because of his residency.

On Wednesday, May 23, police received a tip from a parent about a threat to Lakeshore Middle School.

The incident was investigated by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Grand Haven Department of Public Safety. The Norton Shores Police Department assisted.
