Summer's end and salmon

• Sep 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM

The 14th annual Salmon Festival wrapped up Sunday afternoon with a hike at Kitchel Lindquist Dunes.

Blue skies and unseasonably high temperatures greeted spectators at the event designed to cater to the hometown crowd and to pay tribute to the area’s waterways and the salmon migration.

Crowds lined up for a Salmon Boil on Friday and the Salmon Cookoff and Michigan Wine, Beer and Hard Cider Tasting on Saturday.

Other activities included a fishing contest, run, Kids Zone and a grape stomp.
