A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl have been identified as the suspects, police said. Both Georgetown Township teens are in the custody of their parents, said Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
There is also a 13-year-old suspect.
Police said the juveniles are suspected of entering the Georgetown Protestant Reformed Church on 48th Avenue and the Jamestown Christian Reformed Church on Riley Street early Sunday morning. The suspects pried open a door on the Georgetown Church, scattered Bibles and literature, and discharged fire extinguishers in the pews, police said.
The case has been turned over to the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges, Bennett said.
