Police seek man who targeted Allendale gas station

ALLENDALE TWP. — Police are looking for information on a suspect who robbed a clerk at the Admiral gas station late Saturday night.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the gas station and convenience store at the corner of M-45 and 68th Avenue just before 10 p.m.

The clerk was confronted by a man who implied he had a handgun and demanded money from the cash register, said Sheriff’s Sgt. J. Douglas.

The clerk gave the suspect some money and the man fled in an unknown direction.

Deputies and Grand Valley State University Public Safety officers, along with a sheriff’s K-9 unit searched the area around the store, but didn’t find anything, Douglas said.

The suspect is described as a heavyset white man wearing dark clothes.
