GEORGETOWN TWP. — A Hudsonville man suffered minor injuries when he crashed his car into a building on Baldwin Street on Tuesday morning.

An ambulance transported David A. Frisk, 79, to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids following the 9:23 a.m. crash, said Sgt. Jeff Steigenga of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Frisk was pulling into the parking lot at the Speedway gas station, 1815 Baldwin St. in Georgetown Township, Steigenga said. Witnesses said the man was driving at a high rate of speed when his car smashed into the building. He tried to back up, but then put the car into gear and struck the building again.

There was extensive damage to the building, the sergeant said.

The incident is under investigation.
