Armed robber targets West Olive gas station

WEST OLIVE — Police are looking for information regarding an armed robbery that occurred shortly before midnight Tuesday at the Olive Exxon, 6363 136th Ave. in Olive Township.

The gas station clerk reported a male suspect entered the store at 11:56 p.m., displayed a gun and demanded the money from the register. Police said the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the man fled the store on foot.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies and a K-9 unit conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to find the suspect, said Sgt. Eric Westveer.

The suspect is described as having a slender build; height between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches; and wearing a gray hoodie, blue sweatpants, camouflage face mask and gloves.
