All three drivers involved in a three-car crash at the intersection of Beacon Boulevard and Taylor Avenue in Grand Haven on Thursday afternoon were hurt, police said.

All three drivers were transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital with minor injuries, said Sgt. Joshua Tomes of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

A female driving a blue Volkswagen Beetle was headed north on U.S. 31 when she ran the red light at Taylor and attempted to make a left-hand turn, Tomes said. The VW clipped the front end of a Chevrolet Tahoe, which was in the median between the highway’s northbound and southbound lanes. It then crashed head-on into a white Kia SUV, which was eastbound on Taylor.

The driver of the Volkswagen was ticketed, according to Tomes.

Eastbound Taylor was closed for a short time as the scene was cleared.
