CROCKERY TWP. - Firefighters from two departments spent part of their Easter Sunday afternoon putting out a wildfire at Ottawa County Park’s Jubb Bayou green space park. The park is located on Oriole Drive just east of 104th Avenue.

Responding Crockery Township firefighters discovered the dry grass burning quickly and requested help from Coopersville-Polkton Fire Department, as well as the Michiogan Department of Natural Resources bulldozer.

Approximately two acres burned, but firefighters made a good stop, officials said. The barn on the property was not damaged.

A local citizen also assisted firefighters by providing his tractor for use where the terrain proved to be a challenge.
