The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 25, from 12-3 p.m. It is open to the public.
Proceeds from the cookoff will be donated to Gracious Grounds, which is raising funds to build a facility in Ferrysburg. The organization looks beyond limitations to create an environment that is affordable, friendly and resident-centered. Life-enriching activities and togetherness are emphasized by promoting community involvement, inclusion, employability skills and opportunities, daily living skills, and spirituality.
At the cookoff, chili samples will be available at 50 cents each in the following categories: Hot & Spicy, Meek & Mild, and White Chili.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Pets are not allowed.
