The campaign’s $150,000 goal is for the replacement of a 25-year-old sound system and renovation of the riverfront buildings that house the current system.
The committee says it hopes a new system will “improve overall sound quality and fidelity, and ideally reduce the sound volume required to reach the almost half-mile-wide audience on the opposite riverbank.”
During the past six years, fountain infrastructure has been upgraded with new plumbing, control systems, LED lighting and choreography software. Eight themed shows have been added since 2014 and music playlists have been updated.
