TALLMADGE TWP. — A Marne man is in critical condition at an area hospital after running his pickup truck into a tree early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews found Rylee Kloostra, 25, pinned inside his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado when they responded to the crash shortly after midnight on Linden Drive near River Hills Drive in Tallmadge Township. The injured man was extricated by Wright-Tallmadge firefighters with the assistance of Allendale Township firefighters.

Kloostra was driving north on Linden when his truck went off the road and hit a large tree, said Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. Kloostra was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Douglas said alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
