PORT SHELDON TWP. — A 36-year-old Muskegon man was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a car late Friday night on U.S. 31 south of Stanton Street.

Richard Medacco suffered leg and back injuries in the 9:21 p.m. crash. He was wearing a helmet, said Sgt. Christie Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Medacco was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle north on U.S. 31, when a car came off the Michigan turn, into his lane and struck the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike, Wendt said.

The car momentarily stopped at a gas station just north of the scene, and then left, Wendt said.

Anyone who has information on the white passenger car, with front and or side damage to it, should call the Sheriff’s Department at 616-738-4687, or Silent Observer at 1-8770887-4536.
