WRIGHT TWP. — A 64-year-old Muskegon man was pinned in his vehicle after it went off the road and slid under the median cables early Saturday morning, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Christie Wendt.

Robert Ritter suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the 2:40 a.m. crash. He was in stable condition when an ambulance transported him to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Ritter was driving west on I-96, when he lost control and went into the median and became lodged under the median cable.

He was pinned inside his vehicle for 30 minutes and was extricated by Wright-Tallmadge firefighters.

The left lane of westbound I-96 was closed during that time.
