Hudsonville man dies of injuries after being hit by car

GEORGETOWN TWP. — A 30-year-old Hudsonville man died early Monday morning after being hit by a car a day earlier.

Korey Taphouse, 30, died shortly before 6 a.m. at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, according to Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

A car struck Taphouse at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday as he was walking along Port Sheldon Street, east of 48th Avenue, in Georgetown Township, police said.

The driver of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler was not injured.
