GEORGETOWN TWP. — A 20-year-old Grand Haven woman was ticketed after causing a crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Chicago Drive and Main Street, according to Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Rachel VanZytveld was inputting information into the GPS program on her cell phone when she ran a red light and broad-sided an SUV driven by Kenneth Howe, 36, of Jenison, Buter said.

Howe was driving his 2005 Chevy Trailblazer north on Main Street with a green light when VanZytveld’s 2001 GMC Yukon, which was westbound on Chicago Drive, t-boned his vehicle, police said.

An ambulance transported Howe to Metro Hospital in Grand Rapids where  he was in stable condition, Buter said.

VanZytveld was not injured.

She was cited for disregarding a traffic control device.
