SPRING LAKE TWP. — Two women were injured in a two-car crash on M-104 shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said a car driven by Kali Aleman, 31, was hit from behind on Cleveland Street (M-104) near Krueger Street in Spring Lake Township. The preliminary investigation shows that the Spring Lake Township woman had stopped on the highway and was waiting to turn into her driveway when the second car rear-ended her vehicle, said Sgt. Cal Keuning of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The second car was being driven by Anita Rennells, 66, of the Muskegon area.

Both women were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, Keuning said.

Aleman was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition Wednesday night. Rennells was taken by a NOCH ambulance to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon, where she was also in stable condition Wednesday night.

Two children, ages 9 and 10, in Rennells’ car were released at the scene to other family members.

Keuning said the crash remains under investigation.
