NUNICA — A 32-year-old Twin Lake man was hospitalized in stable condition following a one-car rollover crash Monday morning on I-96 near 112th Avenue in Crockery Township.

Scott Stamper was driving east on the highway in a 1990 Oldsmobile when he fell asleep at the wheel, said Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Stamper’s car left the road and struck a guardrail. It then went into the median, rolled and came to rest on its side.

First responders were called at about 6:15 a.m.

Crockery Township firefighters extricated the driver and an ambulance transported him to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon.
