ALLENDALE TWP. — No one was hurt when an Allendale Public Schools bus slid off the road Thursday morning.

The bus was westbound on Pierce Street in Allendale Township and had just picked up some students near 56th Avenue at 7 a.m. Upon entering the roadway again, the bus driver was unable to steer through an exceptionally muddy area and the bus was pulled onto the ditch slope, said Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver and students were not injured.

When police arrived on the scene, all of the students had been transferred to another bus that took them to school, Buter said.
