A Wyoming man suffered head and neck injuries in a crash late Sunday afternoon at the intersection of southbound U.S. 31 and Washington Avenue in Grand Haven.

The man was able to walk to the stretcher before being taken to the North Ottawa Community Hospital ambulance.

Police said that the man was driving a red Toyota Camry west on Washington Avenue with a green light.

A white, Toyota Sienna van driven by a Jenison woman, was southbound in the left lane and ran the red light, according to an officer from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m. One lane of traffic was able to get past the scene for about a half hour. The road was totally blocked for a short time when tow trucks removed the vehicles from the intersection.
