HOLLAND TWP. — A Grand Haven man was taken to the hospital after a head-on crash with a suspected drunk driver north of Holland on Wednesday evening.

Police said Keith Garvelink, 47, was driving a 2015 Hyundai Sonata west on Adams Street in Holland Township when his car was hit by a 2008 Nissan Altima. The Altima was eastbound on Adams and made a left turn to go north on 96th Avenue, pulling into the path of the Sonata.

Garvelink was transported to Holland Hospital in stable condition, according to Sgt. Matt Wildfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The Grand Haven man was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Wildfong said the driver of the Altima, a 29-year-old Zeeland man, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing injury. He is lodged in the Ottawa County Jail. His name was not released pending arraignment on the charge.
