One man has been arraigned and the other expected to be formally charged today in connection with the theft of guns from a North Shore home Friday night.

Bryan Michael Batten, 19, of Muskegon demanded a preliminary examination when he was arraigned by video Monday on a charge of receiving and concealing firearms. Bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000 and Batten is no longer in jail. Bob Zitta was appointed as his attorney.

A probable cause hearing is planned for next week.

A 19-year-old Grand Haven Township man was expected to be arraigned today on a charge of second-degree home invasion. His name will be released once he is arraigned.

The two men were arrested late Friday night.

Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred at a home in the 17000 block of North Shore Road in Ferrysburg. The suspects know the victim, Bennett said, and were at the victim’s home the day before.

One of the suspects was arrested in the Village Green Mobile Home Park in Grand Haven on Friday night.
