Police say a 20-year-old Norton Shores man suffered a medical problem before crashing his car on 168th Avenue south of Hayes Street in Grand Haven Township Saturday morning.

The man, whose name was withheld because of the medical situation, was southbound on 168th Avenue in a sedan, apparently suffered a medical issue and his car crossed the center line, struck a stop sign, went back across the road and rolled over in the ditch, according to Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was unresponsive, but breathing when emergency crews arrived on the scene shortly after 11 a.m.

The man was in stable condition at North Ottawa Community Hospital following the crash, Buter said.
