The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired at a house on Westland Court around 5 p.m. When they arrived, police were able to talk to family members who were able to get out of the house.
Police surrounded the house while they assessed the situation and sent tactical teams in. That's when they found three people dead inside the home.
"The shooting seems to have stemmed from a domestic situation," said Captain Mark Bennett.
The three people appear to have been killed by gunshot wounds.
Police say there doesn't seem to be any threat to the public due to the likely domestic nature of the incident.
"It appears there is some family relationship to the shooter and the victims," said Bennett.
The victims range in age from 30 to 50 years old, and there were two men and one woman who were killed.
Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the situation, including figuring out a motive.
