Wyoming woman hurt in crash on 68th Avenue

ALLENDALE TWP. —  A Wyoming woman was injured in a two-car crash late Saturday night on 68th Avenue at Warner Street.

Nicole Brandes, 20, was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids following the 11:45 p.m. crash, according to Sgt. Chris Dill of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The other driver, whose name was withheld, was not injured.

Police said said a 31-year-old Mason man was eastbound on Warner Street in a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, stopped for a flashing red light and then proceeded into the intersection. His vehicle struck a 2002 Mazda driven by Brandes.

Allendale Township firefighters had to extricate Brandes, who was momentarily pinned inside her vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
