HOLLAND — Police are searching for a man who they say robbed gas stations in Holland and Allegan County at gunpoint Monday morning.

At about 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported robbery at the Mobil station at 1122 Lincoln Ave. in Holland. Capt. Robert Buursma of the Holland Department of Public Safety said the clerk reported that a man had entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. After the clerk handed over an undetermined amount of cash, the suspect ran out of the store, got into a vehicle and was last seen heading south on Lincoln Avenue.

Buursma said the suspect is described as an unknown race; between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall; with a slim build; and wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored jacket, a camouflage face covering, and black and white Converse Chuck Taylor shoes.

Police said the getaway vehicle was a four-door sedan.

About 20 minutes after the incident in Holland, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a similar robbery at the Mobil station on M-40 in Hamilton involving the same suspect.
