Two people suffered minor injuries in a two-car crash Saturday morning on Lakeshore Drive at Buchanan Street.

Emergency crews responded to the Grand Haven Township location just before 10 a.m.

The crash occurred when a 2006 Volvo, driven by Sylvia Cebelak, 22, of Grand Rapids, failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection, while traveling east on Buchanan, according to Sgt. Matt Wildfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Cebelak said she did not see the stop sign because of low tree branches, Wildfong said.

The Volvo crashed into a 2017 Toyota Rav 4 being driven north on Lakeshore Drive by Maureen Macqueen, 57, of Holland.

Macqueen and her passenger, Kari Macqueen, 29, also of Holland, suffered minor injuries.

Cebelak was not injured.

The road was closed temporarily while crews cleaned up the crash, Wildfong said.

Responding to the scene with deputies were Grand Haven Township firefighters and North Ottawa Community Hospital paramedics.
