She was complaining of leg and neck pain, according to Sgt. Josh Tomes of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety. Her injuries were non-life-threatening, he said.
The woman was driving south on the inside lane of southbound Beacon at about 4 p.m. when she rear-ended a pickup truck driven by a 32-year-old Spring Lake man. It is possible that she was distracted by a wrecker on the opposite side of the road that had been involved in an earlier crash, Tomes said.
A third vehicle, driven by a 39-year-old Muskegon woman, then hit the 65-year-old woman’s Honda.
Both women were ticketed for failure to yield in an assured clear distance ahead, Tomes said.
The driver of the wrecker said he was hauling damaged cars to another location at the time of his crash. He was waiting for a tow truck at the time of the other crash.
Michigan State Police were investigating the first crash.
