FRUITPORT TWP. — Police are seeking information on what they say was a “random” assault that occurred earlier this month at a home in the area of Jensen and Cloverville roads in Fruitport Township.

A woman reported being accosted when she went out to get her mail on Nov. 1, police said.

The victim told police that a small, gold-colored vehicle (possibly a Toyota Camry) pulled into her driveway. The driver of the vehicle got out and chased after her and physically assaulted her.

The woman was able to get away from the man and flee into her house.

Police said the attacker was described by the victim as a white male approximately 6 feet, 3 inches to 6 feet, 4 inches; and weighing approximately 225 pounds. He was said to be wearing all black clothing with brown work boots, a ski mask and gloves.

If anyone has information which would help lead police to the positive identity of the alleged attacker or vehicle, call 911 or contact the Fruitport Township Police Department at 231-865-8477.
