ALLENDALE TWP. — A Grandville teen was pinned inside her vehicle following a two-car collision Tuesday morning on Fillmore Street near 72nd Avenue.

The initial call for help at about 7:15 a.m. indicated that 16-year-old Olivia Bowen was unconscious and trapped inside her car, said Sgt. Matt Wildfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. Allendale Township firefighters extricated Bowen from her vehicle and she was transported by ambulance to a local hospital in stable condition, Wildfong said.

The driver of the other vehicle, 36-year-old Tessa Potgeter of Allendale, was also injured in the crash. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition following the crash, Wildfong said.

Bowen was leaving a private drive to go east on Fillmore and pulled into the path of Potgeter’s westbound vehicle, Wildfong said. Potgeter could not avoid the crash and her 2014 Honda Odyssey struck Bowen’s car in the driver’s door.

Fillmore Street was closed until the crash was cleaned up, Wildfong said.
