ALLENDALE TWP. — Three people were taken to the hospital in stable condition after suffering injuries in a two-car crash Wednesday morning at the intersection of Fillmore Street and 68th Avenue in Allendale Township.

Police said Able Gomez, 45, of Muskegon; and Allendale residents Steven Woodworth, 52, and Pamela Woodworth, 51, were all transported to local hospitals following the 5:36 a.m. crash.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of the two-car crash and additional reports of cars sliding into the crashed vehicles, said Sgt. Matt Wildfong said. A report that a semi-truck was involved turned out not to be true, he said.

The crash occurred when Gomez stopped his 2012 Ford Fusion at a stop sign at the intersection, and then proceeded into the path of the Woodworths’ 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, Wildfong said. Steven Woodworth was not able to stop his truck in time to avoid the crash.

Gomez was traveling south on 68th Avenue, while Woodworth was westbound on Fillmore Street.

Fillmore Street was reduced to one lane of traffic during the cleanup of the crash scene.
