Police continue to investigate an unarmed robbery that occurred early Sunday evening in Spring Lake Township.

Police say that, shortly before 6 p.m., three unknown “subjects” entered the Leonard Road home and took several items before fleeing the scene in an unknown vehicle.

The resident was injured in the incident, and was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released, according to Sgt. J. Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88 SILENT, Ottawa County Central Dispatch non-emergency number at 1-800-249-0911, or the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office at 616-738-4000.

Douglas said that they did not believe that there was a threat to anyone else in the neighborhood.

“We don’t believe the incident was random,” said Capt. Mark Bennett.

The head detective from the Sheriff’s Office declined to release any more information.

The home invasion/robbery remains under investigation.
