A 46-year-old Wyoming man was arrested late Wednesday in connection with the Dec. 7 robbery of a cash store in Georgetown Township.

Police say he is believed to be involved in six other similar incidents.

The man’s name is not being released pending his arraignment, said Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The man is currently lodged in the Ottawa County Jail.

Although Ottawa County officials have been investigating since the Dec. 7 incident, it was a tip earlier this week that led them to the Wyoming man, Bennett said.

The man was observed late Wednesday afternoon in a vehicle in eastern Ottawa County. He was stopped by Michigan State Police troopers and Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies just inside the Kent County line.

Police and prosecutors will be meeting to discuss possible additional charges, Bennett said.

The investigation continues.
