A driver and three passengers suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Jackson Street in Grand Haven.

A 39-year-old Grand Haven woman lost control of her vehicle at around noon while driving around the curve to head west on Jackson, according to Sgt. Josh Tomes of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

The vehicle struck a utility pole in front of the Once and Again store at 1209 Jackson, and then spun around.

The Board of Light & Power was contacted to ensure the pole was not damaged, Tomes said.

The driver was distracted by children in the vehicle, according to Tomes. The two adults and two children were transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital.
