A 69-year-old Spring Lake man was injured when he was struck by a car while walking across Washington Avenue in Grand Haven late Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Lee Adams of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

The man was in the crosswalk at Seventh Street and Washington Avenue.

He suffered a head injury and was transported by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital. Adams said the man’s injuries were minor and he was taken to the hospital to be checked.

The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m.

Police said the driver of the car, a 74-year-old Grand Haven woman, said she did not see the man in the crosswalk. She was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
