Police responded to the crash around 1:15 p.m. on W. Howard City Edmore Road, also known as M-46, near Amble Road.
Preliminary investigation showed that a 46-year-old woman was driving east on W. Howard City Edmore Road. While she was attempting to turn north on Amble Road she was hit was behind by a pickup truck driven by a 27-year-old man.
The 46-year-old's sedan crossed the centerline and was struck by a westbound pickup truck driven by a 54-year-old woman.
The sedan, which was driven by the 46-year-old woman, also had two 18-year-old passengers and the 9-month-old baby. The driver and the 18-year-old man were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 18-year-old woman passenger was transported by Aero Med to the hospital with critical injuries.
The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 27-year-old driver of the pickup truck and the 54-year-old driver of the pickup both had minor injuries.
The crash is still being investigated, and it is unknown at this time if alcohol or distracted driving were factors.
