HOLLAND TWP. — The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects who allegedly robbed and assaulted a woman in Holland Township on Wednesday.

The victim was walking from Century Lane to the Speedway gas station at 16th Street and U.S. 31 between 5 and 6 a.m. when she was approached by two “light-skinned” males, according to police.

The men were walking west, opposite her along the roadway on 16th Street, west of the highway. As the men approached the victim, they demanded she hand over her money, which she refused. The men then assaulted her, taking her wallet.

The suspects were last seen running west, toward the cemetery on 16th Street.

The victim described the man who assaulted her as being around 6 feet tall, with the second suspect a little shorter. The taller man was wearing a Balaclava face mask; the shorter man was wearing a stocking cap pulled down to his eyes with a scarf covering his nose and mouth.

The victim was taken to Holland Hospital, where she was treated and released.
