ALLENDALE — Allendale Fire Rescue and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office received a call at about 3 p.m. Monday for hazardous materials at a residence in the Boulder Ridge mobile home community of Allendale.

Several partner agencies — including the Ottawa County Hazardous Materials Response Team, City of Grand Rapids Hazardous Materials Response Team and Life EMS — also responded to the call.

Two occupants of the house were transported to Spectrum Health’s Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for monitoring.

Nick Bonstell, the director of Ottawa County Emergency Management, said the hazardous material has been mitigated and with no impact to the surrounding area.

There is no public health risk associated with the incident at this time, he added.
