JAMESTOWN TWP. — A 21-year-old Hudsonville man suffered “substantial injuries” in a two-vehicle crash shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday on the exit ramp from eastbound M-6 to Eighth Avenue, police said.

The man, who was pinned inside his vehicle for a half-hour, was taken by ambulance to Metro Hospital in Grand Rapids, said Sgt. Christie Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Two of the three people in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and an ambulance transported them to Holland Hospital.

Wendt said the man was traveling on the exit ramp, stopped at the stop sign at Eighth Avenue, and then turned north and into the path of a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Holland woman.

The woman was not injured. Her two female passengers — age 76 of Holland and age 49 of Wheaton, Illinois — suffered minor injuries.

Police did not release any names.
