3 more arrested in Holland hotel shooting death

HOLLAND — The investigation into the homicide of a teenager at a Holland-area hotel about two months ago has led to the arrest of three additional suspects on Friday.

Troy Wells Jr. was shot to death at the Hampton Inn on Felch Street shortly after midnight Feb. 16. Juan Sandro Cabrera, 18, remains in custody and charged with the murder.

Three additional suspects have been charged and arrested for accessory after the homicide and/or obstructing for lying to police during the investigation. They are:

— Sarah Yolanda Cintron, 32, of Holland, who is Cabrera’s mother. She has been charged with lying to a peace officer during a felony investigation and accessory after the fact felony.

— Juan Martin Trevino Jr., 22, of Holland, who is Cintron’s boyfriend. He has been charged with accessory after the fact felony.

— Christina Marie Cabrera, 37, of Holland Township, the wife of Juan Pablo Cabrera, who the father of Juan Sandro Cabrera. She has been charged with lying to a peace officer in a felony investigation and accessory after the fact felony.

All three are now being held in the Ottawa County Jail without bond.

Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said detectives do not believe that any of the three arrested Friday had a hand in the death of 14-year-old Wells. However, police said the three assisted the suspect after the fact and lied to police during the investigation.

Further details cannot be released at this time, Bennett said.

Juan Sandro Cabrera, his father and uncle allegedly have ties to the Holland Latin Kings. Juan Pedro Cabrera, 34, the murder suspect’s father, is also currently in the Ottawa County Jail for failing to appear for a parole hearing shortly after his son was named as a murder suspect. The father’s original charges were for an assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in Ottawa County in 2015.
