A 14-year-old boy was transported by the Aero Med helicopter to Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids following the 12:30 p.m. crash. An ambulance transported the 15-year-old boy to the same hospital.
Both boys were in stable condition, police said.
The investigation revealed that the older teen was driving his older brother’s red 1997 Honda café-style motorcycle north on Butternut. He lost control of the motorcycle and it ran off the east side of the road and onto the shoulder.
Both boys were thrown from the motorcycle.
Police said that neither one of the boys was licensed to drive.
