POLKTON TWP. — A 30-year-old Norton Shores woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a one-car rollover crash Wednesday afternoon near Coopersville.

Emergency crews responded to a crash at Cleveland Street near 80th Avenue shortly before 2:30 p.m.

The investigation showed that a 2006 Cadillac CTS, driven by the Norton Shores woman, was westbound on Cleveland when the driver lost control of the car and it crossed the centerline and went into the ditch on the south side of the road, said Sgt. Mike VandenBosch of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The car flipped over and came to rest on its top.

Deputies found the driver trapped inside the car. They freed her with the help of Coopersville-Polkton firefighters. Life Ambulance transported her to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Alcohol and speed are both factors in the crash, VandenBosch said. The driver was believed to be wearing a seat belt. Her name was not released.

The crash is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
