PORT SHELDON TWP. — Two women were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Port Sheldon Township.

Police said a 25-year-old West Olive woman was driving a Ford Fusion south on 136th Avenue when she collided with a Chrysler minivan that was westbound on Van Buren Street.

Ottawa County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the crash scene at 2:49 p.m.

There is a stop sign for the eastbound and westbound traffic at that intersection, said Sgt. Christie Wendt of the Sheriff's Office. The minivan pulled into the path of the Fusion, causing the collision, Wendt said. Both vehicles came to rest in the southwest corner of the intersection.

The West Olive woman was transported by AMR ambulance to Holland Hospital. The driver of the minivan, a 22-year-old Holland woman, was flown by Aeromed to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

The names of the drivers and the extent of their injuries were not released.
