Police are interested in finding a motorcyclist who sped through the north side of Grand Haven and fled after police terminated a pursuit early Saturday afternoon.

At about 1 p.m., a Grand Haven Department of Public Safety officer attempted to stop a motorcycle in the area of Jackson and First Street, according to Lt. Christopher Wright.

The operator turned off Jackson and fled at a high rate of speed away from the officer, Wright said. The pursuit was quickly terminated and the motorcycle was last seen heading south on Beacon from Elliott Street.

The operator is described as a heavier set white male, wearing tan-colored hiking boots and a black helmet with flame graphics on it.

The motorcycle was a dark-colored sport bike with a curled-up license plate on the back.

Anyone with information can call the Public Safety Department at 842-3460, or call Silent Observer at 1-877-88 SILENT.
