Suspect in armed robbery sought

HOLLAND TWP. - Police continue to look for a suspect wanted for questioning in an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday afternoon at the 136th Avenue One-Stop.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the store at 690 136th Ave. at about 12:25 p.m.

Police say a lone suspect entered the store and demanded cash. The suspect did have a handgun, which he used to threaten the 33-year-old female clerk.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, said Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect obtained and undisclosed amount of cash and left the store in an unknown direction.

He was described as a black male with an average build, approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing dark clothing. No vehicle was seen at the time.
