An 89-year-old Holland woman has died from injuries suffered in a crash on June 15 in Grand Haven Township.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was informed on Saturday that Janet Korolewicz had passed away at an area hospital, according to Sgt. Michael VandenBosch.

Korolewicz was a rear seat passenger in a 2009 Toyota Corolla being driven by her 16-year-old great granddaughter, who was learning to drive.

The vehicle was eastbound on Ferris Street and the driver was attempting to turn north onto Forest Park Drive when she pulled into the path of a westbound 2012 Chrysler Town & Country mini van.

Firefighters extricated the occupants of the car, who were pinned inside the vehicle after the crash.

The four occupants of the car and the driver of the mini-van were all injured and taken to area hospitals.

The crash remains under investigation.

Neither alcohol, drugs nor speed were factors in the crash, VandenBosch said.
