Light Night was a success

To the Editor:

I want to give a special thank you to Doris and staff at Jumpin’ Java and Ellen and staff from Desserts by Design for making the hot chocolate that the Downtown Development Authority was able to distribute on Light Night (Nov. 20).

We dispensed more than 40 gallons of piping-hot chocolate to visitors and shoppers in the downtown area. People lined up early for the hot chocolate and we heard from many of them how delicious the hot chocolate was on that cold evening.

Please take a moment and stop by these two businesses and express your thanks to them.

Also, a huge thanks to everyone who made Light Night a huge success. The sponsors were the Main Street DDA, the BLP and the Tri-Cities Historical Museum. And there were many volunteers who helped coordinate the event. Our volunteer carolers from the Girl Scouts and Spring Lake High School made the evening truly festive with their wonderful singing. And we couldn’t have done it without the support of our downtown merchants.

We on the Light Night Committee hope everyone who attended had a good time. We look forward to next year and wish everyone a blessed holiday season.
