To celebrate the latest “Star Wars” movie, Loutit District Library hosted a party for all ages this past Saturday.

Costumes were encouraged at the family-friendly event and many in attendance dressed up as their favorite characters from the “Star Wars” franchise.

The party was complete with fun “Star Wars”-themed crafts, bingo, door prizes and tasty treats worthy of galactic travelers. A Jedi and Sith also broke out into a duel with their newly made lightsabers.

Some of the kids attending the party gave their opinion of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which premiered last week.

“’Episode VII’ was amazing,” Chloe Baker said. “It had way better humor, but the action was about the same. However, the ’Empire Strikes Back’ is still my favorite.”

Oliver Baker said: “No ’Star Wars’ movies will ever be as good as the original episodes, I through III.”
